"text": "International Dot Day is a global celebration of creativity, courage, and collaboration. Principally, it encourages children to be creative. It was started by teacher Terry Shay, who brought The Dot, a storybook by Peter H. Reynolds, into his classroom to share with his students, on September 15, 2009, on the fifth anniversary of the book's publishing. The holiday has since spread around the world. The Dot depicts the story of a teacher who encourages a student who doubts her abilities to trust herself to \"make her mark.\" She goes from drawing a small dot on a piece of paper, to building confidence and courage, to reaching self-discovery. May this come to be for everyone on International Dot Day!",
