"text": "Thomas and Ruth Roy of Wellcat Holidays, who created today's holiday and have resided in Lebanon, Pennsylvania, have said of the day:\n\nWe have lots of room, friendly folks and Amish farms. Former home office of David Letterman Show, Lebanon is now the safe haven for residents and tourists to serenely indulge in their world famous bologna and the Wertz family homemade candies.\n\nLebanon, which is the county seat of Lebanon County, Pennsylvania, is located in the central part of the Lebanon Valley, within 30 miles of the cities of Harrisburg and Reading. Named after the country of Lebanon, settlers from Europe first began arriving where it is located in 1720. It was founded in 1740 by George Steitz and was originally known as Steitztown. It was incorporated as a city on November 25, 1885.\nBy 2010, Lebanon had a population of about 25,000. It has been named one of the least stressful cities in the country by Sperling's BestPlaces. It is home to many parks, including Coleman Memorial Park and Stoever's Dam Park. The latter is comprised of 163 acres and encompasses a dam for fishing, habitats for wildlife, camping areas, a community theater, and trails for hiking and biking. Lebanon also has many playgrounds, walking paths, tennis courts, a community swimming pool, the Lebanon Farmers Market, and the Lebanon Campus of Harrisburg Area Community College.\nLebanon is home to Wertz Candies and Seltzer's Lebanon Bologna, both of which have appeared on the television program Dirty Jobs. Lebanon bologna was created in the city, and today is made at places such as Seltzer's and Godshall's Quality Meats. Each year, as midnight strikes on New Year's Eve in Lebanon, a 150 pound Lebanon bologna suspended from a fire department ladder truck is dropped. Donated by Godshall's, it is donated to a local rescue mission after being dropped. With a city with such exciting occurrences, who wouldn't think that moving Hollywood and Broadway there would be a good idea?",
